PokerStars Live Events

Last time we discussed the perks of receiving PokerStars rakeback when playing online games. Today I intend to mention some popular brick-and-mortar events sponsored by PokerStars. Every year a huge number of live tournament series are sponsored by PokerStars, and if you are not able to roll yourself for the events, you can play some cheap online satellites.

EPT (European Poker Tour) London just finished up. If you are a member of PokerStars Elite, you had the option to sit in the Main Event due to your PokerStars rakeback perks. The events took place between September 29th and October 4th, and the series was a great success. The Main Event was a £5,250 buy-in, and the total prize pool ended up being £4,112,800 with 848 registered players. To be a PokerStars player in one of these events, you must satellite in using your PokerStars download or you must be sponsored by the site. The top finishing PokerStars player was Artur Wasek for 4th place and £240,000.

Another reason to support a PokerStars marketing code is that the site has a charitable side. EPT London hosted a 2-day event from October 2-4. Since £10 from each buy-in was going to Cancer Research UK, the total entry fee was £100+10+10. It was a re-entry event with a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000. Those interested in contributing even more to the charity could do so with a simple transfer on their download free poker program. Any amount of money could be transferred to the username “CancerUK”.

If you intend on playing in the Belgian Open Poker Championship, the series lasts until the 17th of this month. Four days have been dedicated to Day 1, and you can play different tournaments on the other three days. There are six total events scheduled. Women can choose to take time off from money poker sites to play in a Ladies event on October 17th for €110.

If you are American and frequent US poker sites, you can participate in the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City. It costs $5,250 to enter the Main Event, but if you find this a bit much, there are plenty of online satellites. Or you can play one of several smaller events between $300 and $600. If you want to play the Ladies Event, the buy-in is $265+$35.

These days people are into downloading poker clients or even playing free poker no downloads, but the live poker scene is still as popular as it ever was. The best way to gain poker fame is still to win a big brick-and-mortar event! The next time you feel the poker urge, maybe take a break from your computer and head over to your local casino instead.
